Virtual psychotherapy in Washington State to promote optimal mental health.
Hi There! I’m Laurel.
I believe that each person has the capacity to overcome life’s challenges, and it’s an absolute privilege to be a part of that process.
My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and open-mindedness.
As a lifelong learner and natural helper, I am deeply committed to my role of psychotherapist.
I exist in this role to support others in emotional healing, personal growth, and cultivating practices conducive to holistic wellness.
My Approach to Therapy
I take an integrative approach to psychotherapy, which means our work together is personalized, not one-size-fits-all. I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities and frameworks, tailoring each session to your unique needs, goals, and lived experience.
Whether you're navigating a life transition, working through trauma, or seeking a deeper connection with yourself, I offer a space that is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in what actually works.
Therapeutic Approaches I Often Draw From:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – to explore patterns in thinking and behavior
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – to support mindfulness, flexibility, and values-based living
Narrative Therapy – to help re-author the stories you hold about yourself and your life
Motivational Interviewing – to meet ambivalence with curiosity and strengthen internal motivation
Theoretical Foundations That Inform My Work:
Trauma-Informed Care – honoring the impact of trauma and prioritizing emotional safety
Neuroscience – using brain-based strategies to support change, regulation, and resilience
Humanistic Psychology – emphasizing authenticity, empathy, and your innate capacity for growth
Family Systems – recognizing how family and relational dynamics shape emotional patterns
Harm Reduction – meeting people where they are, without judgment
Evolutionary Biology – understanding human behavior in the context of evolution and adaptation

Beyond the therapeutic space…
When I’m not in session, I’m a human with a young active family- striving to embrace all the chaos and beauty of this fleeting season. These days, it’s definitely harder to carve out time for doing what I love. When I can set down the chores and responsibilities, you’ll find me outside- on a trail, on a bike, working my way up a mountain or soaking up a quiet beach.
Some of my favorite ways to recharge include preparing nourishing meals while blasting music, geeking out on wellness research and biohacking, and spending unhurried time with the people I love.
Movement, nature, personal growth, and connection are essential to how I care for myself. I bring intention to how I spend my time outside of therapy, so that I can show up energized, grounded, and ready to do the work that I love.
